Kingston’s Largest USB Flash Drive – 128GB

Kingston, well known for manufacturing the world’s best memory chips and flash drives, have come out with another flash memory product. This time the flash drive is sporting 128GB of storage, the world’s first and largest flash drive!

The DataTraveler 200 (DT200) also incorporates a password protection tool. Moreover, according to Andrew Ewing, USB business manager, the new flash drive will give the opportunity for individuals to carry around large databases or files while on the move. He also added that the password tool will be essential in keeping the data private and secure. The password tool only seems to be working on Windows operating systems. Looks like Kingston isn’t a big fan of Mac or Linux.

There are three models with different storage sizes – 32GB, 64GB, 128GB. Additionally, the flash drives are only on a build-to-order basis. Those who are interested in purchasing one can go to their respective retailers or resellers.

A few years ago external hard disks with storage sizes ranging from 40GB to 60GB were already large and bulky to carry around. Now with the release of the new Kingson DataTraveler 200, users will be able to carry three times the size of previous external hard disks in their pockets or wallets. This is essential for those who are involved in video production and graphics. However, if you’re a movie buff, like me, this is useful to carry your movies on the go and easily plug it in to DVD players! Perfect for movie nights with your friends!

Give it a few more months and another company (perhaps even Kingston) will launch a USB flash drive with 1 terabyte of storage. Now that would be awesome and useful!

Enjoy!
